Buffalo Trace Bourbon is dealing customers a winning hand with a free deck of playing cards featuring 52 exclusive cocktail recipes.
The deck will be attached to special promotional bottles of Buffalo Trace available through Tesco, Asda, Booker and other selected retailers from December, while stocks last. The deck will also be available to buy through online drinks retailer www.TheSpiritCellar.com.
The recipes have been collected from leading bartenders in cocktail venues around the UK. They include a mix of classic cocktails such as the Manhattan, Old Fashioned and Mint Julep, signature Buffalo Trace serves including the Buffalo Mojito and Boilermaker, and many unique recipes.
Dan Bolton, managing director of distributor Hi-Spirits, said: “A big part of Bourbon’s appeal is its mixability, and we wanted to share the imagination and flair that so many bartenders demonstrate when working with the brand.
“Consumers are increasingly bringing the on-trade’s booming cocktail culture home by making their own cocktails and mixed drinks, and our exclusive card deck enables them to learn from some of the best mixologists in the business. Just deal yourself a card, and start shaking!”
Distilled at the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Franklin County, Kentucky, Buffalo Trace Bourbon has been described as “one of the world’s great whiskies” by Jim Murray, author of the Whisky Bible.
Recent accolades for the brand include a Gold medal at the 2014 International Wine & Spirits Competition in London and a Silver Medal at the 2014 Los Angeles International Wine & Spirits Competition. Buffalo Trace owner The Sazerac Company was named Distiller of the Year at the International Wine & Spirits Competition Awards in London in November.
Figures from Nielsen show that sales of American whiskey grew by 15.3% in the off-trade in the year to year to April 26 2014. Buffalo Trace has an RSP of £20.
