Responsible for:

Translating our brands building and commercial strategic ambitions into an effective and cohesive plan to deliver market leading activation and execution in the C&C / Discounters channel

Full Channel P&L responsibility.

Leadership of the strategic direction of the channel, developing customer and commercial strategies to ensure we deliver ambitious commercial targets.

Recruiting, leading and developing a senior NAE team to ensure we have the best talent in the market. Targeting and managing the relationship with third party sales force.

The Job

To optimise sales, visibility, net sales value and profit contribution for Hi-Spirits in off trade RTM and Discounters – focusing on our Tier brand priorities.

Key Responsibilities & Critical Success Measures:

Team Leadership

  • Lead, motivate and develop a team of NAE / NAM to deliver ambitious brand and commercial objectives.
  • Target and monitor third party sales force.
  • Set and deliver high standards.
  • Deliver budgeted volume and profit via effective sales strategies.
  • Create the NAMS & controllers of tomorrow.

Customer Leadership

  • Manage our senior customer relationships across the channel, be a visible name in the UK off Premise.
  • Directly Manage the Booker account.
  • Actively contribute towards corporate strategic development & implementation of sales strategy.
  • Review business proposals with the team and Sales Director to manage the individual brand / customer P&L’s.
  • Prioritise our customers to ‘Win with the winners. Construct JPB’s with key partners.

Lead virtual team

  • Liaise with the Marketing team to deliver appropriate brand building initiatives and drive the channel promotional calendar.
  • Manage the channel P&L and work closely with finance / Sales Director to review and adjust investment accruals on a monthly basis.
  • To ensure that appropriate procedures and control systems are in place for the good management of the team in conjunction with
  • Set team KPIs and carry out regular appraisals /review meeting.
  • Efficiency of promotional plans and targeted plans for new listings

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Detailed knowledge of UK off trade with existing contacts.
  • Excellent commercial experience with proven record of delivery.
  • Comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of brand building with the ability to balance commercial delivery.
  • Proven leadership, coaching skills and experience.
  • Proven track record of delivering JBPs and brand building initiatives via a ‘virtual’ team.
  • Ability to be adaptable and manage a demanding workload, prioritising effectively.
  • Comprehensive understanding and working knowledge of brand building with the ability to balance commercial delivery.
  • Experience of using category management to form persuasive commercial propositions that drive value and volume growth.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Analytical with strong financial awareness and commercial judgement.
  • Strong strategic thinking and the ability to create strategic plans.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.
